  • When a customer purchases a product, downloads a software update, connects to an Mgears service, or contacts Mgears, Mgears reports the customer's name, phone number, email address, contact preferences, and device identifier., IP address, location information, and credit card information.

  • Mgears will use this information to process customer requests, provide related products or services, or prevent fraud.

  • Certain jurisdictions may require government-issued identification for purposes of extending commercial credit, managing reservations, or required by law under limited circumstances, such as setting up wireless accounts and activating devices.

  • Mgears uses the Accessibility Service API to obtain the smartphone's Bluetooth address and mobile hotspot network name and password information.

  • By using the Accessibility Service API, Mgears Go can use the smartphone's microphone.

  Where Mgears has assessed that it is necessary for compliance with legal obligations applicable to Mgears or for the legitimate interests pursued by third parties to which Mgears may be required to disclose information, Mgears will not use your consent for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Your personal data may be processed in the following circumstances.

  • We use personal information to create, develop, operate, provide and improve Mgears's services, content and advertisements, and for loss prevention and fraud prevention purposes. Mgears may also use your personal information for the security of your account and network, including protecting the Services for the benefit of all Mgears users. The use of information for fraud prevention purposes occurs when conducting online transactions with Mgears. The use of data for fraud prevention purposes is limited to what is strictly necessary to secure Mgears customers and services. This is to protect the legitimate interests assessed by Mgears.   • Mgears may use your personal information, such as your date of birth, for the purpose of verifying your identity, assisting you in verifying your identity, and identifying appropriate services. For example, we may use your data of birth to determine the age of the Mgears ID account holder.

  • Mgears supports Bluetooth connectivity between a vehicle and a smartphone via the smartphone's Bluetooth address and the hotspot network information obtained via the Accessibility Service API. The service also supports the network connectivity function of the vehicle navigation system. The information obtained will not be used for any other purpose.

Mgears may from time to time provide certain personal information to strategic partners who work with Mgears to provide products and services or help Mgears market its customers. For example, when the customer activates the Mgears service, the customer authorizes Mgears and the device manufacturer to perform the service by exchanging information collected during the activation process. If the service is approved, the customer's account will be subject to the respective privacy policies of Mgears and the respective manufacturer. Mgears shares personal information only to provide or improve Mgears's services and advertisements. We do not share information with third parties for marketing purposes.

When a customer uses some Mgears services or applications or posts on social networking services (SNS), the personal information and content that the customer shares is visible to other users and can be read, collected and used. In these cases, Customer is responsible for any personal information Customer chooses to share or submit. For example, if a customer includes their name and email address in a post on a forum, that information becomes public. Therefore, please be careful when using these features.

5. Integrity and Retention of Personal Information

Mgears makes it easy for our customers to keep their personal information accurate, complete and up to date. Your personal information will be retained for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and the Personal Information Protection Summary by Service. In estimating the required retention period, we carefully examine the need to collect all personal information and, if we determine that it is necessary to collect personal information, for the shortest period required to realize the purpose of collection, unless a longer retention period is required by law. We only keep personal information.

 

 

6. location-based services

In order for Mgears to provide location-based services, Mgears and its partners and licensees may collect, use and share precise location data, including the real-time geographical location of your device. Where available, location-based services may use GPS, Bluetooth, and IP addresses in conjunction with crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspots, cell tower locations, and other technologies to determine the approximate location of a customer's device. Unless you consent, this location data is collected anonymously in a form that does not personally identify you, and is used by Mgears and its partners and licensees to provide and improve location-based products and services. For example, if a customer has opted in to an application provider's location services, the device may share geographical information with that application provider.
